This past Friday, as thunder rolled through the night and rain swept over the juniper and sagebrush, I found myself wrapped in an anticipatory quiet—appreciating the way nature’s rhythms always supersede the plans of humans (fireworks included). There’s something humbling and holy about remembering - 

We have just crossed through the Summer Solstice portal.

Here in Oregon it was windy, cold and rainy, quite suddenly, for a couple of days, right when the sun was at his zenith. A friend of mine, with whom I spent the weekend doing ceremony in the forest, said that in some stories ​the sun is the child of the rain god and the earth goddess.

I’m writing to you today from a new threshold.
After weeks of sending newsletters that may never have reached your inbox, I've just spent a chunk of hours working to troubleshoot, refine, align—so that what I send might arrive to your inbox and not your spam. ​In the event you've wondered where I'd gone, I was sending out my signals but they were being directed elsewhere:

​I didn’t want to write this today.
I almost didn’t.

But something inside whispered,
​“Maybe you don’t have to write from effort…
maybe you can write from where you are.”

In these times of deep, foundational shift, we can maintain center and groundedness by synching up with Nature's biorhythms. Sometimes referred to as "Circadian Rhythm..."

I took sleep for granted for most of my life and found it easy to fall asleep no matter where I was, even in my 20's while traveling through airports, when I could fall asleep on the floor with folks bustling about around me. I also stayed up late often, taking advantage of the quiet dark hours to unburden myself creatively and savor the feeling of having time for myself. But all of that crashed
