In these times of deep, foundational shift, we can maintain center and groundedness by synching up with Nature's biorhythms. Sometimes referred to as "Circadian Rhythm..." (in reference to the internal clock in our body which responds hormonally and in a cascade of other ways to the rising and setting of the sun), but also including seasonal and elemental shifts such as temperature (hot and cold), moisture (dryness or dampness), and attention to nutrition and other inputs (or outputs) that relate with the what the Earth is currently up to, orients our body to the here and now moment which is always shifting and moving, but has an ultimately trustworthy and regulating rhythm. One quantum physicist biologist I follow (Dr. Catherine Clinton) referred to nature's biorhythms as the "language of the Divine" (or how God speaks to us). In the time of slowly, steadily repairing and restoring my body's functions that went completely out of whack to the point of severe disability and near death, I've come to know not just as a concept but as an embodied way of sensing, that Gaia's rhythms are deeply, viscerally linked with my own. This can be hard in some ways for those of us not numb to this because we may feel more acutely the ways that disrespect of Nature's resources and rhythms on the part of humans over recent generations affects our bodies, however, the good news is this: When we come out of numbness and re-enter consciously this powerful relationship, we gain access to a regulating force that is vast, enduring, and can re-set all of the ways we've been dysregulated by relationships of the past. This is powerful news. It means that no matter how out of sorts you've felt, even if you have not yet found regulating human relations to re-establish your healthy internal clock, you can turn toward Nature and her rhythms for a trustworthy reset. Here's me chatting a bit about nature's rhythms: Comments are closed.
